- About Me
I'm Elizabeth, a freelance medical writer based in Queenstown, New Zealand. What I love most about medical writing is its unique position between science and storytelling. I was drawn to this field, and continue to be inspired by it, because it allows me to translate complex research into clear, meaningful communication for patients, specialists, and wider audiences. Guided by empathy, equity, and accuracy, I believe medical writing should not only inform but also connect, helping people feel seen, understood, and empowered.

For me, good medical writing is about more than precision, it's about impact. My philosophy is to improve health literacy so that people can better understand and take control of their own health. Whether I'm working in women's health, neurological conditions, or other therapeutic areas, my aim is always to bridge the gap between research and real-world understanding, making science accessible, clear, and useful.

Beyond Work
Outside of medical writing, I enjoy running a creative side business, ByBeth, where I design and sew handmade pieces. I'm an avid reader, and when I'm not curled up with a book, I'm making the most of Queenstown's mountains on my snowboard. Life here is shared with my fiancé and our very large, very fluffy Retrodoodle, who ensures there's never a dull moment.
